So much science and technology has been done on the athletic shoe that will make you run more efficient, lessen the risks of injuries, make you jump higher, make your legs stronger, and even more shapely. Yes, mankind has even come up with shoes that are not really shoes that makes you feel like you’re not wearing shoes at all. Go figure.

But the average Joe does not spend that much time on their feet doing physically taxing activities. Most of the time, we’re all just walking from point A to point B.
Studies have shown that the average person takes 8,000 to 10,000 steps a day, or an average of 4.5 kilometers, depending on your line of work or your lifestyle. One can walk 185,000 kilometers in a lifetime, which is like walking the circumference of the earth about four and a half times!

Even an office worker takes an average of 1,600 steps per day, unless they’re tasked to do a lot of walking. No matter how you look at it, you’re on your feet walking most part of the day.
